Co-founder & CEO

Max Liu

A veteran of the financial services industry, Max’s career spans more than 20 years across Asia and the United States, including senior leadership roles at Citadel Investment Group and Goldman Sachs & Co. Max was named as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum with the commitment to support and foster sustainable growth across the world. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from the Olin Business School at Washington University in St. Louis.
Head of Product Management

Mike Webster

Mike brings 17 years of experience in the Information and Communications Technology sector across different industries including retail, healthcare, agribusiness, energy, digital publishing and data services in Melbourne, London and Taipei. Mike joined EMQ in 2017 as a Product Manager, where he rose through the ranks and became Head of Product Management in 2018.
CFO

John Kang

John joins EMQ with over 15 years of experience in financial services industry, most recently as a convertible bond trader at Citigroup’s credit trading group. Earlier, he spent 3 years at Citadel Investment Group as a senior analyst in the Special Situations Asia team. Prior to Citadel, John spent 7 years at Goldman Sachs in New York and Hong Kong in Private Wealth Management and Fixed Income, Currencies, and Commodities. John holds a bachelor’s degree in Government from Cornell University.
Global Head of Networks & Expansion

Steven Liu

Steven joins EMQ with over 15 years of industry experience and most recently as head of business operations for the Interpublicis Group of Companies (IPG) in Beijing, where he was responsible for managing and executing corporate development and strategy on top of identifying and evaluating potential M&A opportunities. Prior to this, Steven spent over 7 years at Hanjin Shipping as deputy general manager, covering industry pricing in Japan, Canada and the United States. Steven holds a degree from Washington University in St. Louis.
General Counsel

Matthew Chang

Matthew joins the company with over 20 years of experience representing corporations in general corporate matters, corporate financing, securities law and mergers & acquisitions. Prior to joining the company, Matthew practiced law in the United States and served in various law firms including McDermott, Will and Emery and most recently as Senior Counsel for Keysight Technology, Inc. Earlier, he was a law clerk for U.S. District Court Senior Judge Sterling Johnson, Jr. in the Eastern District of New York. Matthew received his Juris Doctor degree from Northeastern University School of Law in Boston, Massachusetts. He is a member of the California, New York and Massachusetts bars.
